Closet Makeover: process during which wardrobe is edited (and sometimes added to) in order to promote functionality, efficiency, and client's personal style.
Consultation: meeting during which stylist learns about the wardrobe goals of potential client, and based on a variety of factors (such as lifestyle and personal style) develops a plan to best meet those goals.
Edit: process during which items are purged, repurposed, repaired and/or tailored as part of a Closet Makeover.
Lookbook: styled ‘looks’ from client’s wardrobe, usually presented in digital format.
Personal style: mode of appearance (particularly clothing) influenced by a person's background, taste, interests and lifestyle; a characterization of the way a person visually presents him/herself based on a pattern of apparel choices.
Purge: stage in the editing process during which irreparable, unalterable, or otherwise non-functional items are removed from a wardrobe (usually donated or resold).
Shopsheet: Spreadsheet containing potential wardrobe additions to increase wardrobe functionality, usually sent upon the conclusion of a styling appointment; includes item description, photo, web link, price, and any relevant notes.
Wardrobe consultant: person who advises clients on all things clothing related, with the goal of promoting clients' personal style, as well as the functionality and efficiency of their wardrobe.
